That confuses me since the piece I am making is only about 2 inches in size and so I would expect it to use either my current location which I set as 0, or to use the home position, but then a couple times it did work, or at least stayed in the general area.Īt first I tried the top-front-left, but it went out into space just to the left and a little back, so I switched to the front-top-right, and it then went off into space and went out of range. Now sometimes when I send the job it will jog the table way off to the side till it gets an out of range error.

Press "Manual" again to enter command mode and type "DNC" and then "Start". I then set the length of tool 1, then enter MDI and use "T2 M6" to switch to the second tool and set length. I then jog to the top front right part of my workpiece that is in the vise and set all axis to zero (Press "Manual" "Space" to get to next page, press "7", then "H" to set X,Y,Z. I power on the machine, jog to home and do a Cold Start. I think I am going through the same steps each time but I keep getting different results. I accidentally milled my first part last night, I say accidentally because I can't duplicate it.

I purchased a Fadal VMC15 and am using Bobcad 28. I am new to machining (as all my posts state ).
